Ambientes Alfabetizadores e Saudáveis: O Contexto Escolar como Lugar de Acolhimento para Jovens e Adultos

This study presents a reflection on the importance of creating literate environments that, beyond serving the functional purposes of reading and writing, are also healthy and welcoming—particularly within the context of Youth and Adult Education (EJA). From a humanizing and intersectional pedagogical perspective, the text discusses how the school environment can foster students’ emotional well-being by strengthening affective bonds, restoring self-esteem, and contributing to mental health. The discussion engages with authors such as Paulo Freire (2019), Magda Soares (2004), and Lev Vygotsky (2007), and offers both practical and theoretical suggestions for the development of a literate environment that holistically embraces the learner.
