O feminicídio não é um crime comum: é a manifestação extrema de violência de gênero, refletindo séculos de opressão estrutural e falhas institucionais na proteção das mulheres. Este estudo analisa a aplicabilidade e a efetividade da Lei do Feminicídio no Brasil, investigando até que ponto essa legislação tem cumprido seu papel na repressão desse crime hediondo e na garantia da justiça às vítimas. A pesquisa explora a origem e a evolução da norma, sua relação com o patriarcado e os desafios enfrentados pelo sistema jurídico. A partir da análise de casos emblemáticos, evidencia padrões de impunidade, reincidência e falhas na execução penal, questionando a real capacidade do Estado em punir e reabilitar os agressores. Além disso, examina a eficácia das medidas protetivas e a resposta institucional diante das vítimas em situação de risco. Fundamentado em doutrina, jurisprudência e análise estatística, este estudo busca não apenas compreender as lacunas do sistema, mas provocar um debate essencial: O Brasil está realmente preparado para combater o feminicídio?

Abstract
Femicide is not an ordinary crime; it is the extreme manifestation of gender-based violence, reflecting centuries of structural oppression and institutional failures in the protection of women. This study analyzes the applicability and effectiveness of the Femicide Law in Brazil, investigating the extent to which this legislation has fulfilled its role in repressing this heinous crime and ensuring justice for victims. The research explores the origin and evolution of the law, its relationship with patriarchy, and the challenges faced by the legal system. Through the analysis of emblematic cases, it reveals patterns of impunity, recidivism, and shortcomings in criminal enforcement, questioning the State’s real capacity to punish and rehabilitate offenders. Furthermore, it examines the effectiveness of protective measures and the institutional response to victims at risk. Grounded in legal doctrine, jurisprudence, and statistical analysis, this study seeks not only to understand the system’s deficiencies but also to provoke an essential debate: Is Brazil truly prepared to combat femicide?
